ll villaggio di Kallithea fu fondato nel 1925 da alcuni  rifugiati che entrarono in Grecia dopo un  disastro in Asia Minore. All' epoca trovarono delle fattorie appartenenti ad alcuni monaci Russi che si erano insediati nello stesso luogo molto tempo prima. I primi rifugiati crearono un piccolo villaggio dal nome "Maltepe Nuovo". Gli abitanti del  villaggio si applicarono nell' agricoltura . All'inizio degli anni 50 il nome del  villaggio fu cambiato ed il assunse  definitivamente  il nome di  Kallithea .Nome scelto a causa della bella vista che si gode sul posto il significato di Kallithea infatti è  ( kallithea = la bella vista). Oggi le persone si occupano prevalentemente di turismo e nel nel frattempo nuovi abitanti si  aggiunti arrivando da molte  parti diverse del paese. Kallithea ha molte spiagge sabbiose ed anche di ghiaia. acque chiare e cristalline,  in più molti monumenti antichi . Sulla spiaggia si consiglia di vedere  il tempio di Ammon Zeus, e la chiesa in stile Russo di St Panteleimonas infine un'invenzione fatta nell' anno 1850, un importante canale irrigatorio opera ingegneristica, rivoluzionaria considerato i tempi in cui fù realizzata. The village of Kallithea was founded in 1925 by refugees who came to Greece after the disaster in Asia Minor. Before the setting, a farm, belonging to Russian monks, had been functioning on the same place. The first refugees created a little village with the name "New Maltepe". The villagers applied themselves to agriculture and stock-breeding. In the beginning of the 50?s the village was renamed to "New Kallithea" because of the nice view provided.(kallithea = nice view). Today the people occupy themselves with tourism and in the meanwhile new inhabitants have moved to the place from different parts of the country. Kallithea has many sandy beaches and clear waters plus several ancient monuments and other sights. On the beach there is the temple of Ammon Zeus, and next to it is the russian-style church of St Panteleimonas and also a great invention for the years of 1850, an irrigation channel.
