Stintino |
Stintino, oggi frequentatissima località balneare, sorge all'estremità occidentale della costa settentrionale della Sardegna. Il suo centro ha un impianto ordinato, con strade che formano un reticolo rettangolare e sulle quali si affacciano case dai colori pastello. Intorno i segni evidenti di un'edilizia poco rispettosa dell'ambiente. Ciò non riesce comunque a noscondere il fascino delle spiagge circostanti, dalla finissima sabbia, e delle acque cristalline del mare dalle quali emergono la piccola isola Piana e la più estesa Asinara.
La particolare posizione di Stintino consente di accedere a due "mari": quello riparato dai venti come il maestrale e il ponente e disseminato di spiagge e spiaggette; quello sul bordo occidentale dell'Isola, ricco di rocce e strapiombo e di calette d'acqua verde e profonda.
Alle spalle della spiaggia della Pelosa, chiusa a nord dalla secentesca torre omonima, sopra un'altura, sorge la Torre del Falcone, che vale la pena di raggiungere per ammirare l'Asinara di fronte il profilo di Capo Caccia a ovest, e la costa fino a Castelsardo est.
