Golden sand and crystal-clear sea
Marina di Butera is the beach locality of the municipality of Butera, in the province of Caltanissetta. It is the perfect place for those who want to spend a relaxing holiday away from the chaos of the city thanks to its strategic position, reachable by car but far from highway exits.
Marina di Butera is situated between the mouth of the Comunelli torrent and the Punta delle Due Rocche, respectively bordering with the municipalities of Gela and Licata, and has a sandy coastline about 8 km long. Since it is a tourist locality, the local inhabitants are numbered and it is mostly made of hotels, villages and holiday houses. Marina di Butera is known for the picturesque medieval manor house located on a rocky spur overlooking the bay of Falconara; its structure was modified many times during the centuries and, currently, part of it is a private house, while the other part is an accommodation facility. It belonged to the families of Santapau, Branciforte and Chiaramonte Bordonaro and was chosen as the set of more than one advertisement of international relevance.
Marina di Butera is crossed by the state highway 115 that connects Siracusa to Trapani and by the railway Siracusa-Canicattì (stopping at the Falconara Station). North of this locality, the expressway 626 coming from Caltanissetta ends. Other provincial roads connect the nearby districts to Butera.
