The Hotel Terme Punta del Sole is a four-star hotel, open during the entire year, located in a privileged position in the heart of Forio d'Ischia, 500 meters far from the beach of Citara and 350 meters from the beach of La Chiaia. In proximity of the hotel there are the most representative buildings of this municipality: the church of Soccorso and the Torrione. The hotel rooms are located in different buildings and equipped with bathroom, shower, telephone, hair dryer, heating/air conditioning, TV, security box and minibar. They are divided in: Standard rooms, with outdoor terrace (or window on the higher floors); Superior rooms, all on the higher floors with a balcony. The hotel offers a free Wi-Fi connection, an indoor thermal pool and an outdoor thermal pool with solarium terraces. The Hotel Terme Punta del Sole also has a wellness centre, a fitness area, a common area, an excursions service and a luggage storage. Inside its wellness centre the guests can receive thermal muds/baths or inhalations/aerosol associated with the national health service.
Locality
Forio d'Ischia is the island's second municipality for population and importance. It is located between two promontories: Punta Caruso and Punta Imperatore, and offers the most beautiful beaches of Ischia in an enchanting landscape that combines the coasts and the vines that adorn the western side of the Mount Epomeo. Forio extends for 13 square km and, thanks to its rocky recesses, it is possible to bathe not only on its sandy beaches, but also in unique places such as the coast of Zaro and the Sorgeto bay, famous for its thermal springs flowing directly from the bottom of the sea at high temperatures (bathing is also possible during the winter). Forio is the municipality that best preserved its historical centre full of alleys, churches and sighting towers that make it the cultural centre of the island. During the '50s it was the favourite destination of many celebrities such as Luchino Visconti, Pierpaolo Pasolini, Sir William Walton, Eduardo de Filippo and artists such as Elsa Morante, Alberto Moravia, Auden, Pablo Neruda and many others.
Places to know and visit
The beach of Citara, characterized by fine sand and shallow water suitable for children; it has a free area and many private beach clubs.
The beach of La Chiaia, the biggest one in Forio, is suitable for families with children thanks to the entertaining services (surcharge required) and to its particularly shallow water. Its white sand and its characteristic bottom right after the rocks make this beach the ideal place for the snorkeling lovers.
The beach of Cava dell'Isola is usually populated by young people who enjoy playing beach volley and beach soccer, and it is the ideal place for those who want to have fun in its crystal-clear water and wild landscape.
The Poseidon Thermal Gardens are the largest and most beautiful pool park in Ischia with 20 pools, 500 metres of coast, 8000 square meters of beach, 1 wellness centre and 6 hectares of terraces.
Zaro's wood is a suggestive path that links the municipality of Lacco Ameno to Forio. Famous for its viewpoint on the beach of San Francesco, it is also a place of worship dedicated to the Madonna of Zaro.
Following the main street in the shopping centre of the municipality, it is possible to reach the famous square where the "Chiesa del Soccorso" is located, from where it is possible to admire the famous Green Flash, only visible in particular periods of the year.
The Chiesa del Soccorso, a church overlooking the sea. Together with the Torrione, it is the symbol of the municipality of Forio and one of the main architectural masterpieces of the island.
Ravino and La Mortella gardens are the perfect places for nature lovers and those who want to know rare subtropical and mediterranean plants. La Mortella Garden was recognized as the most beautiful botanical garden of Italy in 2004.

The cuisine of the Hotel Terme Punta del Sole is a cuisine of simple flavors with references to regional dishes and the flavors of the Italian tradition. The daily menu has a multiple choice between different first and different second courses, with water and wine from the dispenser included.
