Noto

Italian town in the province of Syracuse, the largest in Sicily and the fourth in Italy. The city is studded with baroque palaces and churches of great value, including the Chiesa Madre San Nicolò (cathedral) partially rebuilt only a few years ago following an earthquake, the church of San Carlo al Corso, the church of San Domenico, the Porta Reale, the noble palaces, Nicolaci di Villadorata, Trigona di Cannicarao, Landolina di San'Alfano. Noto was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2005. Today the city has developed on tourism, thanks also to the surroundings where among other things there are two very important nature reserves, that of Vendicari and that of Cassibile, also in the area there are several long beaches of golden sand. Also famous for the production of DOC Eloro and Val di Noto wines.
