Hotel Monzoni

Vai alla tua lista

The Hotel Monzoni is situated in Pozza di Fassa, Trentino Alto Adige. It was inaugurated in the 1929 where, in the past, there was an old service station for coaches, postal convoys and sometimes tourists. Thanks to its proximity to the ski lifts, this hotel is the perfect place for couples and families that want to practice winter sports and appreciate the magic of the local traditions. Built with a typical style from Trento, it offers its guests all the comforts needed. There are three different types of rooms: Standard, Classic and Superior and they are all equipped with LCD TV, telephone, security box and some of them have a balcony. There is a heated skis/ski boots storage and a skibus service (in preset hours, it requires an extra charge) that stops right in front of the hotel. Those who want to relax after a day spent skiing can go to the wellness centre of the Hotel Monzoni, characterized by an indoor pool, a relax area and a sauna.

Locality
Pozza di Fassa is a fraction of Sèn Jen di Fassa, in the province of Trento, and has 2276 inhabitants. Pozza di Fassa and Pero, its district, are located in the valley where the Avisio river and the Rio San Nicolò river meet, and are overlooked by the Cima Undici and Cima Dodici mountains. Pozza is a wellness oasis thanks to the sulphurous thermal springs of Terme Dolomia, the only one in Trentino, 1320 meters on the sea level. The renovated ski area "Buffaure" is appreciated for its landscapes and quiet ski slopes.

Places to know and visit
The Buffaure ski area has one of the longest ski slopes in val di Fassa, starting 2050 meters on the sea level and ending on the valley floor. The tourists can appreciate a breathtaking view on the Catinaccio, the Latemar and the Gruppo del Sassolungo while going up with the Buffaure ski lift. It offers the ski lovers 25 km of perfectly snow-covered slopes and the possibility to easily reach the Belvedere ski area in Canazei, thanks to the skibus service.

Aloch Slope in the Ski Stadium of Val di Fassa, with night lighting: a real stadium with tracks suitable for international Alpine-skiing tournaments. To the cross-country skiing lovers, Pozza offers the entrance to the Marcialonga and the Ciancoal circuit, always fun and covered with snow.

The small church of San Nicolò, situated on the peak of Meida town, is a gothic building with an altar of the noble de' Rossi family, old owners of the Tower. On the pillars of the altar there are paintings of lions, emblem of the family. On another altar, there is a statue of the Madonna di Loreto. On the bell tower there were four bells that are now inside the bell tower of the modern church.

Modern Church of Pozza, high and elegant building dated back to the 1950s. Its bell tower has many melodious bells.

Crucifix Chapel, in Val San Nicolò at the end of the Via Crucis. Beside the chapel there is an alpine cottage that accommodates the pilgrims.

The Tower in Pozza: a castle also known as Mas, for its farming purpose during the 1800, or as La Torn. It is an austere structure that survived many demolitions and reconstructions, characterized by the fortified tower. It is situated on a hill in the Val San Nicolò, where the Rio San Nicolò and the Avisio rivers meet.

Skiing and snowboarding: tourists can reach the Buffaure taking a cable car from Pozza di Fassa. Here they can go skiing and snowboarding on about 17 km of red slopes except for one, the black slope of "Vulcano". You cannot miss the "Panorama" slope, long 6 km, that starts from the Buffaure shelter, goes through the woods and ends in Val San Nicolò. The meeting point for the freestylers is the new snowpark equipped with jumps, rails and boxex suitable for both experts and amateurs. Starting from Pozza and going up towards Meida you can find the Skistadium Aloch with the namesake black slope; it has night lighting and is a 1 km-long skistadium with a 500-meter difference in height and a medium incline of 27% (maximum incline of 49%). Here, the italian alpine skiing team trains and many events are organized (like the numeorus tournaments of Coppa Europa). From the slopes of the Buffaure that pass through the entire Val di Fassa, the Panorama skitour takes the tourists from Pozza to Canazei. Here you can keep moving towards the Belvedere, the Col Rodella and the Sellaronda, in the Dolomiti Superski. Pozza also offers an educational camp with many games in the district of Fraine-Pera di Fassa and a cross-country skiing circuit.

Skipass: there are different types of skipass in the Val di Fassa area. With the "Val di Fassa/Carezza" you can ski from Canazei to Passo Costalunga (Fedaia-Marmolada, Ciampac, Belvedere, Col Rodella, Buffaure, Catinaccio, Carezza) except for the Moena area, where the "Trevalli" pass is required (Alpe di Lusia, Bellamonte, Passo San Pellegrino, Falcade). Those who want to spend the entire white week skiing can purchase the "Fassa XL 3+3" skipass. With this pass you can freely move in three different ski areas for 6 days (Val di Fassa/Carezza, Trevalli e Val di Fiemme/Obereggen) using a single card. The "Dolomiti Superski" skipass entitles you to use all the ski areas in Val di Fassa and also the ski areas of the Marmolada glacier. The skipasses (daily, weekly or season pass) can be purchased on the official Dolomiti Superski website, in the skipass offices of the valley or in the accommodation facilities that offer the "Skipass at Check-In" service.
