Sestriere, in the province of Turin, is the highest municipality in Italy its 2035 m above sea level and the first modern Italian ski resort. The Uappala Club Sestriere is just 150 m from the Milky Way Area, one of the most famous in the world with its 400 km of slopes of all levels and difficulties and almost 50 km of cross-country trails; the area offers the opportunity to ski at night, ice-climbing, freeriding, heli-skiing, bobsledding, sledding, snowscoot, electric snowbiking, sledding, and even the thrill of riding a husky dog sled. In 2006 the area of Sestriere was home to the Winter Olympics, becoming the homeland of Piedmont Alpine skiing, with the large number of slopes distributed on different sides at high altitudes can ensure, together with the snowmaking a constant snow cover throughout the season. To the quality and vastness of the area, is added a wide and articulated tourist offer, both in summer and in winter, with shops, spas, gyms, hotels and restaurants of various kinds.
