Municipality of 824 inhabitants of the eastern Aosta Valley, located at the foot of Monte Rosa, a renowned summer and winter holiday resort, which has always been considered a privileged destination for shrewdness. Its history and tradition are linked to the Alemannic Walser population following the colonization of the bishop of Sion. Clear signs of that culture are revealed in the "titsch" language and in the architecture of the villages with beautiful two-storey stone and wood houses still inhabited.
Visiting Gressoney-Saint-Jean means immersing yourself in beautiful walks. The town is divided into two main squares Ondre Platz (the lower square) which takes its name from King Umberto I to whom the main statue of the square was dedicated. Here the town is truly magnificent, full of many small shops where you can enjoy a nice shopping among beautiful buildings rich in history dating back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in Italy.
