Portorosa

Portorosa is a tourist complex in the municipality of Furnari, in the province of Messina, located in the bay between the suggestive Gulf of Milazzo and Tindari. Portorosa is the biggest tourist harbour in Sicily and one of the most exclusive ones in the Mediterranean sea with villas overlooking its navigable canals. The accommodation facilities for the tourists and the harbour were wanted by private entrepreneurs (with the approval of the municipal administration) during the 1970s but their building started in the 1985. The structure has a small shopping centre, service station, restaurants, pool (extra charge), discotheque, villas and residences.
