Day 1 Lisbon
Arrival at the hotel. Meeting with the other participants and the tour leader at 7:30 p.m.

Day 2 Lisbon – Queluz Palace – Cabo da Roca – Lisbon

Breakfast. In the morning, guided tour of Lisbon, with its wide avenues and grand squares, reminders of the period when the city was the capital of one of the world’s largest empires, stretching from Brazil to Angola and from Mozambique and India to Macau and Timor.
Visit to the Belém district, with stops at the Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries and the church of the Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline Gothic architecture.
The panoramic tour continues past the Parliament and the green Eduardo VII Park. This will be followed by a walk through Alfama, the city’s oldest district, passing the 12th-century Cathedral and the Church of Saint Anthony, built on the site where the saint was born.
The itinerary continues through the central Baixa Pombalina district to Praça do Comércio, overlooking the broad estuary of the Tagus River.
In the afternoon, departure for Queluz Palace, an 18th-century royal residence and a refined example of Baroque and Rococo architecture, surrounded by elegant gardens.
Continue to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, offering spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Return to Lisbon. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 Lisbon – Óbidos – Alcobaça – Nazaré – Batalha – Fátima

Breakfast. Departure for Óbidos and visit to the medieval village, enclosed by walls and crossed by characteristic lanes dating back to the 12th century. Perfectly preserved, its historic centre resembles an authentic open-air museum.
Continue to Alcobaça and visit the important Cistercian monastery. Inside the church are the spectacular tombs of King Pedro I and Inês de Castro, protagonists of a tragic love story that earned them the title of the “Portuguese Romeo and Juliet”. Inês was proclaimed queen after her death.
Continue to Nazaré, a traditional fishing village overlooking the Atlantic, offering splendid views of the ocean.
Stop in Batalha to visit the renowned 14th-century monastery, an architectural masterpiece in which Gothic style blends harmoniously with Manueline art.
Continue to Fátima for an introductory visit to the Marian Sanctuary, built following the famous apparitions and visited every year by millions of pilgrims from around the world. In the evening, opportunity to attend the evocative candlelight procession.

Day 4 Fátima – Porto – Guimarães

Breakfast. Departure for Porto and guided tour of the city.
The itinerary passes through the characteristic Ribeira district, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its colourful façades and evocative maze of narrow streets. Continue to Infante Dom Henrique Square, representing the historic and monumental character of the city.
Entrance to the Church of São Francisco, known for the richness of its decorations, followed by a visit to a traditional Port wine cellar. This internationally renowned wine is one of the city’s most iconic products.
Departure for nearby Guimarães, considered the birthplace of the Portuguese nation and the first capital of independent Portugal in the 12th century. Visit its fascinating historic centre, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 Guimarães - Braga - Santiago de Compostela

Breakfast. Departure for Braga and visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus, renowned for its spectacular Baroque staircase.
Continue to the historic centre and visit the ancient Braga Cathedral, reflecting the religious and historical importance of one of Portugal’s oldest dioceses.
After the visit, departure for Santiago de Compostela.

Breakfast. In the morning, guided tour of the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela, a city that developed around its famous Cathedral, the final destination of the various Routes of Santiago.
Built and extended over the centuries, the Cathedral combines different architectural styles that make it unique. Together with the city’s historic centre, it is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The guided tour will end in front of Santiago Cathedral. The remainder of the day is free for individual visits and leisure activities.

Day 7 Santiago de Compostela - Coimbra - Lisbon

Breakfast. Departure for Coimbra and visit to its fascinating historic centre, characterised by narrow streets, squares and ancient buildings.
The itinerary continues with a visit to the University of Coimbra, the city’s principal institution and one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe.

Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
