Sant'Angelo is an isthmus in the municipality of Serrara Fontana, Isola d'Ischia. This islet is one of the pearls of the island with its characteristic centre, little squares and alleys full of boutiques and pottery shops.
Sant'Angelo is a renowned elegant tourist locality populated by italian and foreign visitors. Its square is full of bars, restaurants, wine shops, small shops with local products and elegant boutiques.
The upper part of Sant'Angelo is called "Torre"; in the past, there was a little church dedicated to the archangel San Michele (that gave the name to the village). Moving past the church, on the right side, it is possible to reach Cava Petrelle where there are the famous Fumarole, hot-sand areas where food can be cooked.
Among the many peculiarities of this islet there is the bay of Sorgeto, one of the best examples of the natural thermal activity of the island; in Sorgeto, the hot thermal water flows directly into natural pools where it is possible to bathe even during the winter. Sant'Angelo can be reached by bus from Ischia Porto. In its harbour, there is a taxi boat service that connects the hamlet to the adjacent Maronti beach.
