Alberobello

Alberobello is an Italian town in the province of Bari made famous by the characteristic houses that were recognized as a UNESCO heritage site in 1996. The heart of the town is made up entirely of trulli, the original dry stone houses, some even dating back to the 14th century, whitewashed. with quicklime and a cone-shaped roof made of exposed stones, decorated with zodiac symbols, crosses and pierced hearts.

What to see in Alberobello

Alberobello is made up of winding alleys and districts such as the Monti district and the Aia Piccola district, where Casa Pezzolla, a complex of 15 communicating trulli now used as a Museum of the Territory, and the Trullo Sovrano, which hosts shows and concerts, stand out. Characteristic are also the churches, also in the shape of a trullo, such as the Church of Sant'Antonio and the minor Basilica of Santi Medici.
