The hotel is one of the oldest tourist structures of the Valle. It owes its name to the alpinist Giovanni Battista Piaz, known as the "devil of the Dolomiti" beacuse of his reckless ventures. This hotel is the ideal destination for groups and families with children that want to spend their summer/winter holidays in a comfortable place. It consists of 35 rooms (single, twin, three-bed and four-bed rooms), all of them simple and elegant and with view on the mountains. They have a flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi connection, a private bathroom with hair dryer. Some of them have a balcony. The public skibus stop (extra cost) is right in front of the hotel.

Locality
Pozza di Fassa is located in the heart of Val di fassa, Trentino Alto Adige, and offers a great view on the Vajolet Towers. It is an important touristic centre, popular among the winter-sports and Dolomiti lovers and those who want to relax. Here is the only thermal spring of Trentino. The Dolomiti lovers can skii during the winter and go for a walk during the spring and summer. Val San Nicolò, famous among the climbers, is full of peculiar lodges that provide evidences of the typical farming/pastoral activities of the locals.

Places to know and visit
Church of San Nicolò, situated on the peak of Meida town, is a gothic building with an altar of the noble de' Rossi family, old owners of the Tower. On the pillars of the altar there are paintings of lions, emblem of the family. On the bell tower there were four bells that are now inside the bell tower of the modern church; it is possible to listen to all four of them at midday on saturday and sunday.

Inside the church of San Lorenzo di Pera, modified many times over the years, there is one of the last examples of altar with "portelle". The artifact dedicated to the saint is dated back to the 1612 and its style is inspired by the late-gothic altars in Germany. On the bell tower there are five bells, each one from a different age: the smaller bell is dated back to the 1793, melted by the metalworker Zach from Bolzano, and it is an interesting example of the typical bell created with a baroque style from Bolzano.

The "Torn" is an austere structure that survived many demolitions and reconstructions, characterized by the fortified tower. It is situated on a hill in the Val San Nicolò, where the Rio San Nicolò and the Avisio rivers meet. The San Nicolò Castle was isolated on the field of the Dosso di Sotto, Dassè. The Tower overlooked the underlying valley, from Pieve di San Giovanni to Moena and, from it, it was also possible to see its twin tower: the Tower of Corte di fassa a Vigo, political and militar centre of the valley. The Corte di Vigo was situated on the mountain overlooking the mule track d'Alemagna that proceeds towards the Passo di Costalunga, passing through the town. The Maso Fortificato dal Soldà protected the area surrounding the Corte di Vigo and Pieve. The political, militar and religious functions were separated in the different structures that, in this way, controlled the entire valley.

The Ciampedie is a ski area particularly loved by families with children thanks to the mascotte "Lauri" in the Baby Park or the educational camp in the district of Fraine-Pera di Fassa. Starting from Pozza di Fassa, you can reach Buffaure taking a modern cable car: here you can go skiing and snowboarding on about 17 km of red slopes except for one, the black slope of "Vulcano". You cannot miss the "Panorama" slope, long 6 km, that starts from the Buffaure shelter, goes through the woods and ends in Val San Nicolò. The meeting point for the freestylers is the new snowpark equipped with jumps, rails and boxex suitable for both experts and amateurs. Starting from Pozza and going up towards Meida you can find the Skistadium Aloch with the namesake black slope; it has night lighting and is a 1 km-long skistadium with a 500-meter difference in height and a medium incline of 27% (maximum incline of 49%). Here, the italian alpine skiing team trains and many events are organized (like the numeorus tournaments of Coppa Europa). From the slopes of the Buffaure that pass through the entire Val di Fassa, the Panorama skitour takes the tourists from Pozza to Alba di Canazei. Here you can keep moving towards the Belvedere, the Col Rodella and the Sellaronda, in the Dolomiti Superski.

There are different types of skipass in the Val di Fassa area. With the "Val di Fassa/Carezza" you ca ski from Canazei to Passo Costalunga (Fedaia-Marmolada, Ciampac, Belvedere, Col Rodella, Buffaure, Catinaccio, Carezza) except for the Moena area, where the "Trevalli" pass is required (Alpe di Lusia, Bellamonte, Passo San Pellegrino, Falcade). Those who want to spend the entire white week skiing can purchase the "Fassa XL 3+3 skipass". With this pass you can freely move in three different ski areas for 6 days (Val di Fassa/Carezza, Trevalli e Val di Fiemme/Obereggen) using a single card. The "Dolomiti Superski" skipass entitles you to use all the ski areas in Val di Fassa and also the ski areas of the Marmolada glacier. The skipasses (daily, weekly or season pass) can be purchased on the official Dolomiti Superski website, in the skipass offices of the valley or in the accommodation facilities that offer the "Skipass at Check-In" service.
