Curinga

Curinga is an Italian town of 6722 inhabitants nestled in the greenery between Pizzo on the Costa degli Dei, in the province of Vibo Valentia, the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia and the plain of Lamezia Terme, in the province of Catanzaro. It offers varied landscapes and environmental characteristics: forests of beech, holm oak, oak and fir trees are present in the high hills. In the locality of Vrisi you can admire the Good Giant, a monumental millenary oriental plane tree (Platano oriental di Vrisi), one of the largest in Europe, while the largest black poplar in Italy is located a little further downstream, right at the entrance of the village. For this reason Curinga is also known as "the country of the two giants".

To visit in Curinga in addition to the Roman Baths near Acconia di Curinga, the Hermitage of Sant’Elia Vecchio also known as the Monastery of Sant’Elia should be mentioned. A very suggestive place that is located above the bed of the Turrino river and around which several fascinating legends have arisen. Curinga is also a seaside destination that is chosen by thousands of tourists every year. The context in which its coastline fits is that of the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia.
