What to do in Marina di Ginosa

Marina di Ginosa is a bathing locality, fraction of the municipality of Ginosa, in the province of Taranto. An enchanting town full of monuments and places of interest framed by a heavenly landscape. The entire coastline is surrounded by mediterranean-scrub pinewoods that are included in the protected area of "Pinete dell'Arco Ionico".

Marina di Ginosa offers a unique landscape, a crystal-clear sea whose bottom is covered in Posidonia, coral seaweeds, sea anemones and sponges that became the home of many fishes and sea turtles. Marina di Ginosa's sea was awarded by the Foundation for the Environmental Education with a Blue Flag many times during the last decades: 1995, 1997, 1998, from 1999 to 2001 and continuously from 2004 to 2017. It also received 3 Blue Sails from Legambiente for the 2009 summer season. This award is a result of the many initiatives taken to promote the environmental sustainability, waste management and the many attempts to promote environmental themes. On the coastline, green areas of mediterranean scrub alternate with beach clubs and accommodation facilities.

Marina di Ginosa offers, together with its wonderful sea and uncontaminated nature, many natural and artificial places of interest: the Salinella lake is one of the most important natural attractions, on the border between Basilicata and Apulia, and is the perfect place for bird watchers; Torre Mattoni, a medieval sighting tower; the two pinewoods called "Polmoni verdi dell'abitato" (green lungs of the inhabited centre) Pineta Regina and Pineta Cavese.
