Tour description
The Georgia Tour is an 8-day journey into the heart of the Caucasus, from the vibrant atmosphere of Tbilisi to the mountain landscapes of Svaneti. The itinerary crosses historic cities, ancient places of worship, archaeological sites and fortified villages, revealing the country’s many different facets.
From Tbilisi, the journey continues to Mtskheta, Georgia’s ancient capital and religious centre, before reaching Gori and the rock-hewn city of Uplistsikhe, an important legacy of the ancient trade routes that once crossed the Caucasus. The itinerary then continues to Kutaisi, the gateway to western Georgia.
The journey then enters the heart of Svaneti, a mountainous region characterised by valleys, the peaks of the Greater Caucasus and ancient defensive towers. A stay in Mestia provides the opportunity to visit Ushguli, one of the most fascinating places in Upper Svaneti, where villages and medieval towers preserve the region’s historical identity.
An organised tour of Georgia with an Italian-speaking guide, designed for travellers who wish to combine cultural heritage, history and nature in a complete itinerary, from Georgia’s cities to the mountains of the Caucasus.
