Breakfast at the hotel. Along the King's Highway, visit the mosaic city of Madaba, home to the Church of St. George, where the floor features the oldest mosaic map of the Holy Land, depicting Jerusalem, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, and Egypt. The city itself offers many famous mosaics in both public and private buildings. Continue to Mount Nebo, the presumed burial place of Moses, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Here, the Franciscans built a structure to protect a Byzantine church dating from the 4th to 6th century. The city of Jericho in the West Bank is usually visible from the summit, as is Jerusalem on a very clear day. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Shobak Castle, known to the Crusaders as Mont Real or Mons Regalis - the Fortress of the Royal Mountain. It was built in 1115 by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem to guard the road from Damascus to Egypt and was the first of a series of fortresses linked to the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem. The imposing castle successfully resisted several attacks until it fell to Saladin’s troops in 1189. Transfer to Petra. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure for the visit to Petra, located about 3–5 hours south of modern Amman, about 2 hours north of Aqaba, on the edge of the mountainous Wadi Araba desert. The city is surrounded by towering rust-colored sandstone hills that once gave ancient Petra natural protection from invaders. The site is semi-arid due to the soft sandstone, which crumbles easily into sand and allowed the Nabataeans to carve temples and tombs directly into the rock. The color of the stone ranges from pale yellow or white to vivid reds and the darker browns of harder rocks. The twisted, multicolored layers form spirals and waves in the rock face, which the Nabataeans skillfully used as decorative elements in their architecture. The entrance to the archaeological area is extraordinarily scenic: walking along a path inside a deep canyon, through sculptures and feats of engineering (the Siq), we arrive at the so-called “Treasury,” a building entirely carved into the rock, followed by the magnificent Roman Theatre, Qasr Bint Pharaoun, the Temple of the Winged Lions, and other monuments. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to the hotel in Petra for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Just a 15-minute drive away is Beidha, also known as Little Petra, the place where the Nabataeans used to host their guests. It was one of Petra's main crossroads — an entry and exit point for trade routes heading north and northwest. Caravans from the Negev, Gaza and Ascalon, Jerusalem, and the Phoenician cities stopped here during their commercial journeys. Merchants likely rested in the cool isolation of Siq al-Barid, the “Cold Canyon,” whose entrance lies at the end of a narrow valley. Afterward, a 2-hour 4x4 jeep tour in Wadi Rum, the desert known as the Valley of the Moon, following in the footsteps of Lawrence of Arabia, climbing sand dunes and natural rock bridges. This is a vast valley carved into sandstone and granite in southern Jordan, about 60 km east of Aqaba. The highest point in Wadi Rum is Mount Um Dami, rising over 1,800 meters above sea level. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight stay at a desert camp in Wadi Rum.

Breakfast at the desert camp. Along the Araba Road, visit to Bethany Beyond the Jordan, the site of John the Baptist’s settlement, where Jesus was baptized, as mentioned in the Bible (John 1:28 and 10:40), as well as in Byzantine and medieval texts. Continue to the Dead Sea, a sunny destination year-round, located in the Jordan Valley about 422 meters below sea level - one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. Lunch at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel by the Dead Sea. Free afternoon for swimming and mud-based wellness activities. Dinner and overnight stay in Amman.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the beautifully preserved Greco-Roman city of Jerash, one of the best-preserved examples of Roman civilization. It was part of the Decapolis (ten great Roman cities of the East) and is often called the “Pompeii of the East” due to its extraordinary state of preservation, with theatres, churches, temples (dedicated to Zeus and Artemis), a nymphaeum, and colonnaded streets. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Ajloun to visit the impressive fortress of Qal'at al-Rabad, overlooking the Jordan Valley. This 12th-century castle was built by Saladin during his legendary campaign against the Crusaders, launched from Jordan in 1189 - an outstanding example of Arab-Islamic military architecture. Return to the hotel in Amman for dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. City tour of Amman, the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. In the Iron Age, it was known as Rabbath Ammon, and later as Philadelphia, one of the ten Greco-Roman cities that made up the Decapolis. Today, it is often referred to as the “White City” due to the white stones used in the construction of its buildings. Begin with a tour of Amman’s old city, exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre - two of the city's most famous archaeological sites - as well as the Folklore Museum and the Archaeological Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue east into the desert to visit some of Jordan’s Desert Castles. These are remarkable examples of early Islamic art and architecture, featuring fine mosaics and frescoes. Admire the beautiful artwork of Qasr Amra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the well-preserved Qasr Al-Kharanah, and Qasr Al-Azraq, dating back to Roman times and located in a palm oasis. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight stay.
