Day 1 Italy → Amman
Arrival in Amman, meet with our representative and assistance with customs clearance and other formalities. Transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 Amman → Madaba → Mount Nebo → Shobak → Petra

Breakbfast at the hotel. Passing along the King’s Highway, visit the mosaic city of Madaba, home to the Church of St. George, whose floor features the oldest map of the Holy Land. The city itself offers many famous mosaics in both public and private buildings. From here, the visit continues to Mount Nebo, the presumed burial site of Moses, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Here, the Franciscans built a structure protecting a Byzantine church from the 4th and 6th centuries. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then, visit Shobak Castle, built in 1115; it was the first in a long series of fortifications built beyond the Jordan by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem to control the road from Egypt to Damascus. It successfully resisted numerous attacks until it fell to Saladin’s troops in 1189. Transfer to Petra, dinner, and overnight at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to visiting Petra, a city carved into the pink-red rocks of the Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans. This site was rediscovered after many years by the Swiss explorer Burckhardt. Walk through the Siq, a narrow and windy path between the rocks, to reach the Treasury, the Roman Theater, Qasr al-Bint, the Temple of the Winged Lions, and other monuments. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Petra → Beida (Little Petra) → Wadi Rum

Breakfast at the hotel. Just a 15-minute drive away is Beida, known as Little Petra, where you can enjoy a pleasant walk through this siq that was once the center of Nabatean trade. Then continue to the Wadi Rum desert, where the film “Lawrence of Arabia” was shot. Followed by a 2-hour 4x4 vehicle tour. Lunch at a local restaurant. Dinner and overnight at the camp in the Wadi Rum desert.

Day 5 Wadi Rum → Bethany → Dead Sea → Amman

Breakfast at the hotel. Passing along the Arabian Road, visit Bethany, the site of the settlement of St. John the Baptist, where Jesus was baptized, as reported in the Bible (John 1:28 and 10:40) and in Byzantine and medieval texts. Continue to the Dead Sea, a sunny place all year round, located in the Jordan Valley about 422 meters below sea level, it is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world. Lunch at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel. Free afternoon for swimming and mud treatments. Return to Amman for dinner and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the visit to Jerash, one of the best-preserved examples of Roman civilization. It was part of the Decapolis (ten major Roman cities in the East) and is also called the Pompeii of the East for its incredible state of preservation, featuring theaters, churches, temples (dedicated to Zeus and Artemis), a Nymphaeum, and colonnaded streets. Lunch at a local restaurant. The visit continues to Ajloun, a 12th-century castle built by Saladin during his glorious campaign against the Crusaders, starting from Jordan in 1189. It is an exceptional example of Arab-Islamic military architecture. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Day 7 Amman → Italy
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer from the hotel to Amman airport for the return to Italy.

Remember to bring a valid passport with an expiration date of no less than 6 months at the time of entry into the country. The currency in Jordan is the Dinar (JOD).
Visas and vaccinations
The visa is obtained upon arrival at the airport through the assistance of our correspondent, provided that the passport data is sent to our offices at least 7 days before departure. Vaccinations are not required for those coming from Italy.
