The Vietnam Experience Tour is a 9-day journey designed for those who wish to discover the authentic essence of Vietnam - from historic cities to breathtaking landscapes. The adventure begins in Hanoi, the charming capital where ancient temples and peaceful lakes tell the story of the nation. It continues to the magnificent Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a cruise among limestone islets and mysterious caves.
The journey goes on to the enchanting Hoi An, with its ancient houses, local markets, and silk workshops, before crossing the scenic Hai Van Pass to reach Hue - the former imperial capital, where poetry, culture, and spirituality reign. The experience concludes in vibrant Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), the modern heart of the country, filled with bustling markets, pagodas, and historic landmarks.

Breakfast at the hotel and a full day dedicated to discovering Hanoi, the vibrant capital of Vietnam. We will start at the evocative Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 and considered Vietnam’s first national university, a place that celebrates Confucian education and the tradition of scholars. Next, we will visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the charming One Pillar Pagoda, small yet rich in historical charm. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will explore the peaceful West Lake and visit the historic Tran Quoc Pagoda, Hanoi’s oldest pagoda dating back to the 6th century and overlooking the lake. We will also stop at the Hanoi Museum of Ethnology, showcasing the cultures of 54 ethnic groups of the country, with both indoor and outdoor areas, making the visit particularly engaging. The day ends with a visit to the Ngoc Son Temple, an ancient place of worship on the islet of Hoan Kiem Lake, perfect for soaking in the city’s traditional atmosphere. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Hanoi → Halong Bay

Breakfast at the hotel, then departure for the stunning Halong Bay (Vịnh Hạ Long), enjoying along the way the spectacular Vietnamese countryside. Arrival at Vinh Ha Long in late morning and boarding an elegant junk boat for a cruise among the rounded limestone islands emerging from the emerald-green sea, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
During the cruise, you will visit fascinating caves such as the famous Sung Sot Cave (“Surprise Cave”), a vast cavern of over 10,000 m² filled with stalactites and stalagmites forming theatrical-like scenes. Lunch and dinner will be served on board, all while immersed in the relaxing silence of the sea dotted with islets - a perfect opportunity to unwind as the scenery changes hour by hour. Overnight will be spent in a private cabin on the junk boat, a memorable experience blending comfort and nature.

Day 4 Halong Bay → Hanoi → Da Nang → Hoi An
After tea or coffee on board, we will leave our junk boat and, aboard traditional sampans, set off to explore some of Halong Bay’s most famous caves - places full of myths and charm - or you may choose to relax with a swim on the small deserted beaches scattered throughout this unique landscape. At the end of the morning, return to the pier. On board, enjoy a light brunch while we slowly cruise back to the coast.
Later, transfer to Hanoi airport for the flight to Da Nang; upon arrival, transfer to the center of Hoi An - a UNESCO World Heritage town renowned for its charm and architectural beauty. Dinner on your own and overnight at a hotel in Hoi An.

In the morning, discover the charming Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage town, strolling through its characteristic streets and admiring the ancient Chinese houses, some over two centuries old. During the visit, you will explore the main points of interest, including the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Temple, Phung Hung House, the local market, the Rehahn Museum, and Chuc Thanh Pagoda. Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Hoi An Silk Center, where you will have the opportunity to observe all stages of silk production: from mulberry cultivation and silkworm breeding, to cocoon creation, fiber processing, weaving, and dyeing. The rest of the afternoon is free for shopping or exploring the town independently, among artisan workshops, cafés, and picturesque corners. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 Hoi An → Da Nang → Hue

After breakfast, depart for Hue, crossing the scenic Mandarin Road and the panoramic Hai Van Pass, offering spectacular views of Da Nang and its enchanting surroundings. Arrival in Hue around noon, the ancient capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen dynasty (1802-1945), known as “the city of peace and poetry” for the romantic charm of its historic monuments.
Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Imperial Citadel, the historical heart of the city. Continue with a boat excursion along the picturesque Perfume River, discovering Thien Mu Pagoda, also known as the Pagoda of the Celestial Lady. The day concludes with a visit to Khai Dinh Tomb and the traditional incense village of Thuy Xuan, where incense is still produced using centuries-old methods. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Hue Airport for the flight to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). Upon arrival, meet the guide and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit the War Remnants Museum, which provides a raw and detailed account of the Vietnam War, featuring historical photographs and an outdoor collection of weapons and combat aircraft. Continue the day with visits to the historic Central Post Office, Ngoc Hoang Pagoda, and the lively Ben Thanh Market, the vibrant heart of the city where colors, aromas, and local handicrafts create an unforgettable experience. Dinner on your own and overnight at a hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

Breakfast at the hotel and a full day free in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to explore the city independently. You will have the opportunity to discover markets, historic neighborhoods, traditional cafés, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Vietnamese metropolis at your own pace.
Optional excursions (with supplement) available:
1. Excursion to Ben Tre - Mekong Delta
After breakfast, departure for Ben Tre, the picturesque coconut capital of Vietnam, located in the heart of the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival at Ham Luong or Chet Say pier, board a local boat for a scenic cruise along the small canals of the Mekong River. During the journey, you can admire the daily activities of local fishermen, irrigation systems, and traditional riverside houses - an authentic glimpse of rural Vietnamese life. Visit a local brick kiln to observe the traditional handmade production process. While enjoying fresh coconut water on board, continue along the Cai Son canal, surrounded by lush water coconut palms. Stop at a small handicraft workshop to see how coconut-based products are made, then visit a coconut candy factory where you can taste freshly made sweets and seasonal tropical fruits. The tour continues with a short walk to a mat-weaving house, followed by a fun ride on an xe loi - a typical local vehicle similar to a tuk-tuk-- to explore the authentic countryside of Ben Tre, far from mass tourism. Here, you will have the chance to admire unique exotic fruits not found in Italy. Lunch in a local restaurant with typical Mekong Delta dishes. Return to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and overnight at the hotel.
2. Excursion to Cu Chi and Cao Dai Temple
After breakfast, depart for the excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels, one of the most significant historical sites in southern Vietnam, located about 50 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). This extraordinary underground tunnel complex, stretching over 250 km, was dug day and night by local residents during the Vietnam War as a means of defense and survival from bombings. During the visit, you will have the chance to explore part of the tunnels and learn how the Vietnamese lived, cooked, and fought underground, still feeling the intense historical atmosphere of the place. Continue to Tay Ninh to visit the Cao Dai Temple, the spiritual center of Caodaism, a syncretic religion combining elements of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism, and Confucianism. The richly decorated and colorful temple offers a unique spectacle and a profound cultural experience. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon and overnight at the hotel.

Day 9 Sai Gon → Italy
After breakfast, transfer to Ho Chi Minh City Airport for the return flight to Italy.

Visas and vaccinations
For Italian citizens, a visa is not required for stays of up to 45 days. No mandatory vaccinations are required for travelers coming from Italy, but vaccinations against hepatitis A, typhoid, and malaria prophylaxis are recommended for those staying in rural or forested areas.
